FAQ
Q - where is the on-screen keyboard?
A - it doesn't have one. Attach a MIDI keyboard, or send MIDI into the app's virtual MIDI port from another app.
Q - does it have any In-App Purchases?
A - no. We have grown to really, really hate IAP and will never, ever do them again. That is a promise.
Q - is there a free version to evaluate?
A - no. But it's so inexpensive and so great, you should just buy a copy. And if you want an in-depth look at it to see if it's for you, Doug at the Soundtestroom is going to be putting it through its paces real soon now - video to follow, watch this space!
Q - does it support Inter-App Audio / AudioBus?
A - not yet. This is definitely planned, soon, but we wanted to get this out first for people to play and experience.
Q - IT ISN'T MAKING ANY SOUNDS! HELP!!!
A - follow this simple checklist
1) Get it on the right MIDI channel
Plug it in and hit keys. If the blue LED at the bottom right lights up, you are good to go. If not, either change the MIDI channel your keyboard is using, or change the app's Great channel in Settings until you get a blue LED when you hit and release keys.
2) Make sure you are not muted in the software
Check the volume slider (MIDI CC 7) on your keys - about 80 is a good place to start. 127 with all the stops and couplers out gets pretty loud ...
3) Make sure you are not muted in the hardware
Check the volume on your iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch
4) REALLY make sure you are not muted in the software
Check you have some Great stops pulled out - blue, far left of the screen. Try the ‘Great Diapason Chorus’ setting of 8’ Principal plus 4’ Principal plus 2’ principal, gives that classic "There is no doubt, that is a church organ" sound.
Q - I CAN'T GET ANY OF THE GREEN/SWELL VOICES TO PLAY!!
A - these are on the Swell division. You either need 2 keyboards on different channels, or if you have a single keyboard attached you need to pull out the SWELL TO GREAT coupler.
Q - I CAN ONLY GET THE GREEN/SWELL VOICES TO PLAY AND NOT THE BLUE/GREAT ONES!!
A - your MIDI controller is sending data to Swell, not Great - this is shown by the green LED flashing when you play, not the blue one. Change your controller's MIDI channel to match what the app is expecting as the Great keyboard. Or if you prefer, change the channel that the app is using for Great to match what your keyboard is sending.

And finally - HAPPY PLAYING!
Victorian Chapel Organ is a brand-new codebase - that means we just wrote it, and it doesn't have old stuff in it - so it is right up to date. Even though it successfully runs on old devices, and supports installations as old as iOS 9, it is a thoroughly modern application and should give you many years of pleasure.
Do play it, enjoy it, and please let us know what you think. We are very proud of this instrument, and it is the first in a short series of church organs we will be implementing - the rest of the collection will be modelled on real organs from real churches around England. Watch this space!
